INTERIOR FEATURES
The home has been remodeled and updated with livability and luxury in
equal parts.
Design elements flow effortlessly through the open living areas. The
windows are covered with white painted wood blinds. The walls are a rich
taupe, the trim is crisp white. The door and window casings are fluted
with rosette corner blocks. Recessed lighting subtly highlights the
home’s best features.
The entry foyer is a hub with access to many parts of the house and the
yard areas.
The generous foyer is crossed above by two wood beams and is floored with
diagonally laid multi-colored slate in tones ranging from salmon to
grey.
The antiqued brass hardware on the knotty pine entry door meshes well with
the metal finishes on the wall sconces and central hanging light
fixture. The lighting choices are defined by delicate curves, careful
craftsmanship, and white toned art glass.
A double-doored entry closet provides ample room for coats, boots, and
gear.
Passing through glass-paned white French doors at the right of the foyer,
you enter the living room.
The living room is spacious, with narrow oak plank flooring and options
for multiple seating and conversation areas. A reading nook would be
perfect near the white triptych of bookshelves that spans one wall. A
couch and recliner would be perfect near the built-in maple
entertainment center that sits diagonally in one corner.
The entertainment center is flanked by large windows complete with window
cushioned window seats with white wainscoting below. The windows
overlook the home’s beautiful landscaping, lush lawn, and shimmering
aspen trees.
A strikingly handsome gas-log fireplace features salmon-toned sandstone
mantle, surround, and hearth. The dry-stacked geometric stone is a work
of art all on its own, but in a recessed nook above the mantle there’s
room for even more art, with recessed lighting intended to show off your
collection of favorite pieces.
Windows on either side of the fireplace look out over the west side of the
yard, including the flagstone patio.
The family room, located two oak steps up from the living room, is open to
the kitchen and has a door out to the quaint porch on the west side of
the house.
In addition, the family room features its own woodburning fireplace. The
fireplace has a painted wood mantle and a black granite surround. Two
windows, one on either side of the fireplace, have wide sills and views
out to the south yard.
A white wainscoted bar with seating room for four separates the family
room from the masterful kitchen.
The bar, as well as the countertops and backsplashes in the kitchen area,
are salmon-toned slab granite.
The kitchen is resplendent in maple cabinetry complete with white
porcelain hardware and crown molding. A wealth of glass-paneled cabinets
provide opportunity to display your best china or funkiest glassware.
Every detail has been addressed. Under-cabinet lighting and a clever
outlet strip make the workspace uber-functional.
The appliances include an Amana stovetop, Dacor convection oven, built-in
Sharp carousel convection microwave, a side-by-side Amana maple-paneled
refrigerator, and a ISE maple-paneled dishwasher.
The large double-basin porcelain sink has a Friedrich Grohe faucet with
pull sprayer and a separate hot/cold filtered water tap.
A pocket door gives convenient access to the laundry room.
Between the kitchen and dining room, a family message center with maple
cubbies and granite counter helps reserve the kitchen for culinary
purposes only. A bank of light switches allows easy management of
lighting on the entire first floor.
The dining room is spacious and bright with French doors out onto the back
deck.
A granite-topped wine cellar cabinet is cleverly located in a corner of
the dining room.
A small office off of the dining room has built-in desk and cabinetry,
recessed lighting, and a petite closet.
Next to the office is a full bath with tub/shower. Though the bath has no
windows, an inset of architectural glass bricks in the back of the
shower brings in natural light from the laundry room.
Tile flooring extends up to a tile wainscoting, which is separated from
the rich khaki walls by a narrow decorative tile edging.
A Kohler pedestal sink and marbled glass vanity sconce round out the
finishes.
The stairway up to the bedrooms has white wainscoting, an old-fashioned
delicate white wood banister, and a neutral plaid wool carpet runner.
At the top of the stairs, the attractive hallway bathroom is an unabashed
pink. Pink walls top shiny white porcelain tile floors.
The tub/shower features the same white porcelain tile. Black slab granite
and an under-mounted Kohler sink top a white painted vanity. The vanity
is lit by a frosted glass, three bulb light fixture.
The guest bedroom, to the right of the stairs, has oak floors, high gabled
ceilings, a single-doored closet, and windows looking to the east and
south.
The master suite fills the rest of the upstairs. Expansive yet intimate,
the gabled ceilings create cozy tucked away nooks.
A gas-log fireplace with marble surround and maple-finished mantle adds to
the romance. Wood flooring and views to the south and west add to the
charm.
More charm and romance await you down the carpeted hallway within the
master suite. The master bath is awash in natural light and decadence –
from the enormous whirlpool tub to the His and Hers walk-in closets and
vanities.
The whirlpool tub is a light taupe porcelain with bright chrome fixtures.
Geometric-patterned tile on the tub surround flows into the walls of the
oversized shower. The shower features double Grohe showerheads and a
built-in tiled bench.
The two vanities are interestingly set opposite each other. One faces
north, the other south. Between the two, a window looks out over the
west side of the yard.
Salmon-hued granite tops and whitewashed wood vanities. Taupe Kohler
hexagonal sinks rest below flush-mounted mirrors. The four-fixture
chrome and brushed glass vanity lights are mounted on top of the
mirrors.
The commode is tucked out of the way in a room of its own.
The His and Hers walk-in closets are simply a joy to behold, with a
plethora of built-in racks, cabinets, drawers, and cubbies.
Another second-story area is accessed via a Berber-carpeted stairway from
the front foyer. A fully finished, large, and versatile space above the
garage is light-filled and ready for whatever you have in mind. Make it
your second family room, game room, home theater, or arts and crafts
studio. Or use the existing plans to turn it into two bedrooms complete
with en suite bathrooms.
The “bonus” room has a vaulted ceiling with a large wood beam and offers
recessed lighting, Berber carpet, plentiful windows and a large storage
area at the top of the stairs.
The ample laundry room is accessible both from the front foyer and the
kitchen. The laundry room floors are tiled, the lighting is recessed,
and there’s even a large utility closet/pantry.
A Culligan water softener system is located next to the full-size
Whirlpool washer and dryer.
The heated three-car garage is wired for sound and has a utility sink with
cabinets both above and below. The mechanical room, which has lots of
space for storage, is also located in the garage.
EXTERIOR FEATURES
The exterior of the home is finished in warm grey board and batten with
dry-stacked sandstone and log columns.
A raised, rock-walled flower bed curves gracefully along the walk leading
to the front door.
Lacquered and bright knotty pine front doors and sidelights are flanked by
burnished metal lantern-style porch lights.
Upgrades include a built-in sprinkler system and outdoor speakers on the
decks and porches.
Established perennial flower gardens are tastefully arranged around the
home and the grounds. With delphinium, lupine, roses, daisies, pansies,
day lilies, sweet Williams, hosta, and wild geranium – to name but a few
– your summers will be filled with blooms and color.
On the west side of the home, an old-fashioned covered porch and a
flagstone patio look out over broad manicured lawns to clusters of
mature aspen and spruce trees.
The south side of the home has a generous wood deck perfect for outdoor
dining on warm summer evenings.
On the east side of the large yard behind a lilac hedge, there is a fully
fenced dog kennel featuring three individual dog runs with enclosed
shelters, plus a large open grassy area. The area connects to the garage
via a dog door.
ADDITIONAL REMARKS
The home includes a DSC home security system, a carbon monoxide
detection system, a water softener, and a built-in sound system with
speakers both inside and out.
